2015 Wide Awake "Reserve"

A masterpiece of all things Awakening. This wine was inspired by the year-over-year progression of one of our favorite and MOST sought after blends: Awakening.  

 

This wine has immense complexity, both on the nose and palate. Black as night, with a nose full of black raspberry crème brulée, rich cherry cobbler, boysenberry preserves, dried spices with subtle hints of fresh tobacco leaves, cocoa nibs, and vanilla cream soda.  Full bodied and textured, the wine hits your palate with a rush of silky tannins that linger into ripe fruit of black cherry, plum, and currants, followed by a dash of acidity. From the mid palate, the wine then returns to vibrant fruit notes before a long, velvety and elegant finish of caramel, a hint of char and cloves.
