2016 Henchman
Tannat 100%.
60% Bella Collina Vineyard
40% Glenrose Vineyard
Paso Robles.
The 2016 vintage brings the introduction of a new Tannat vineyard for Pulchella: Glenrose. While Bella Collina Tannat offers all the dirty and briary Tannat notes that we know and love, Glenrose Tannat brings a surprising fruit intensity to the party. Pushing the boundaries of Tannats complexity with an explosion of black fruits, fresh and stewed, dried prunes, cranberry, cherry cobbler, wet tobacco, and dry earth. Full-bodied and beautiful, the palate is alive with ripe blackberry, juicy black cherries and a soft tannin structure, before moving into bright acid in the mid-palate that carries through to a long and robust finish of fruit and tannin. This one was built for the cellar
75 cases produced –Drink now through 2031, decant for 1+ hours.
Taking all that Paso can throw at her, laughing and demanding respect. She boasts some of the most intense extraction and tannins known to winemaking. Choosing a respectful backseat to her arrogance, she’s guided down a path of controlled rebellion.
