From conception, she had a mind of her own and a predetermined destiny without the need for intervention.  After many heated arguments, she just refused to listen and we stepped down.  

We are stoked about this vintage of Mercenary, which take us back to our classic 2013 Mercenary! Comprising 97% Zinfandel and 3% Tannat, our 2016 Mercenary is big jammy expression of Paso Zin with some added attitude from Tannat. 

Medium to Medium+ in color with a dull, but dark, crimson color, this wine is a total showoff!  The nose is wildly complex with jammy notes of blackberry, raspberry and plum, dried apricots, spice notes of anise and white pepper, and a soft sweet oak expression of vanilla and clove! On the palate, the wine is silky and satin-like from start to finish, with well integrated acidity, soft tannins, big fruit flavors on the mid-palate, and a long spice driven finish.
